This article has highlighted the top 10 HP all-in-one printers, with their top features, what we like and what we don’t like about them. You need to go for a printer with a higher DPI if you want clear prints. Epson is known for its expertise in photography, and this is where the ET-2850 really shines; it has a maximum print resolution of 4800 x 1200. The ET-2850 produced accurate, well-saturated colors throughout our testing process. When you're calculating the duty cycle and paper input capacity you'll need for an MFP, remember to factor in copies and incoming faxes to the total number of pages you'll print.
This truly portable printer is no larger than your cell phone and can be taken anywhere you go for instant photo printing. If you’re looking to print and share life events at home, it makes sense to pick the best All-in-One photo printer for your lifestyle. The third feature is borderless printing which allows you to print beautiful borderless photos. It uses a hybrid ink system so you can print detailed documents and pictures. For average use in a home office, a mid-priced inkjet printer should suffice. If you go with a really low-cost inkjet printer, the printer’s speed and print quality may seem disappointing—especially when printing photos or graphics. A more expensive inkjet printer typically offers features like an automatic document feeder, automatic duplexing, extra paper trays and wide-format printing. In general, a laser printer produces sharper text and graphics, often at faster print speeds than an inkjet.
To make sure we accounted for all kinds of people and needs, we tested these printers under as many conditions as possible. We set them up using Windows and Mac computers, as well as Android and iOS phones. Since 2012, and I’ve personally been covering the beat for the better part of four years. Collectively, we’ve spent a ridiculous number of hours researching models, squinting at test documents, eyeing stopwatches, and fiddling with menus. In addition to our own testing, we’ve polled readers and gathered feedback from comment sections.
Is A Dedicated Scanner Better Than A Printer’s Scanner?
Overall, we were impressed with the HP Envy Inspire 7955e’s print quality in our testing, particularly when it came to finer details. Text was satisfactorily sharp and crisp in both color and black-and-white documents; no streaking was apparent. Glossy photos printed out with sharp, vivid hues, and color copies appeared true-to-life when scanning photographs. Tonal gradients came through just fine in our scans and copies, to a surprisingly accurate degree. The HP Envy Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer is an excellent option for any small business, home office, or makeshift dorm room.
This printer comes with HP Scroll Scan technology, which helps it scan a variety of media easily and properly. You can even do it from your smartphone and tablet via the HP All-in-One printer remote mobile app, which can connect directly to your printer without a wireless network. Some will tell you it’s a ploy from manufacturers to force people to spend more on ink. It’s an annoying situation to find yourself in since some printers won’t allow you to continue print jobs once a low cartridge is detected. However, many HP-brand printers don’t force you to change your cartridges at this point. Just keep an eye on your ink levels, and have some backups on hand when you’re in a pinch. A slow printer performance can be remedied by going into your document’s print settings and selecting a lower-quality printing option. If you just need to print notes or text documents, producing a high-quality page isn’t really necessary.

Even though it’s not the best value, it’s still cheaper on a per-page basis than the HP 9015e, and it’s a good printer overall. We liked its large touchscreen display, its ability to print and scan 11-by-17-inch documents, and its speedy printing and scanning. The print and scan quality were very good, too, though like other ink-tank printers we’ve tested it can’t scan or copy two-sided pages.
And for the best photo prints, look for an inkjet with a six-color ink system and that prints at a higher resolution. This printer uses a 2.4-inch color display along with buttons on the front panel to navigate among functions. Print speed is a respectable 15 ppm in black and white and eight ppm in color. Printing 8.5 x 11-inch photos or two-sided documents takes a bit longer. Epson supports wireless printing via several protocols, including Apple’s AirPrint and Mopria.
Epson EcoTank ET-2850 All-in-One Printer
This monochrome Brother laser printer supports high-volume jobs -- it prints up to 32 pages per minute. It has a large paper tray, and is equipped to handle a variety of sizes and paper types. And the 4.3 touchscreen makes it easy to view, edit, and print photos directly from the SD card slot; you can also print photos and documents directly through your tablet or smartphone. The Canon Pixma G6020 MegaTank represents a great value, featuring oversized ink tanks that hold roughly 30 times the amount of ink in comparison to other brands. And while it doesn’t offer any faxing capabilities , the Pixma G6020 was built to handle a high workload. Color prints shouldn’t be an issue either, with users reporting high image quality across the board.
We don’t think it’s necessary for most homes or even the average home office. But if you run a business with modest printing and paper-handling needs, or if you’ve grown exasperated with your inkjet AIO’s failings, the M479fdw should hit the sweet spot. HP MFP M140w is an all-in-one black and white monochrome laser printer.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e is likely to be the easiest printer you’ve ever had to set up, and that alone is enough to recommend it. But it also prints beautifully , scans well, has great apps for PCs and mobile devices, and prints for an affordable 2.2¢ per page in black or 8.9¢ per page in color. It looks great in any office, thanks to a clean, compact design, and it comes with a two-year warranty that’s twice as long as what you’d get with most competing printers. If you’re not interested in the extras HP+ has to offer, the older 9015 is a great machine that you might be able to find at a discount. If you have modest needs and don’t require fast printing or auto-duplexing, for example, a budget all-in-0ne printer between $100 and $250 should work well for your needs. Any inkjet printer that costs less than $500, uses ink tanks and that offers a print speed higher than 10 ppm is a good deal for a household with average printing needs.
